State Border Guard Service expects over 30,000 fans for Champions League final
Director of the Department for the Protection of the State Border, Major General Yuriy Hresko said this at Boryspil Airport on Friday during a demonstration of the readiness of law enforcement agencies to meet visitors to the Champions League final, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"We expect 30,000 foreign guests to arrive in Ukraine. They will travel to Ukraine through 26 air checkpoints, 51 automobile checkpoints and 53 railway checkpoints," Hresko said.
He noted that 800 border guards and more than 100 police dogs would be involved in meeting the fans.
At Boryspil Airport, where the load will be the biggest, in addition to border guards, there will also be 30 representatives of the National Police and 100 representatives of the National Guard. In addition, 60 volunteers will help communicate with foreign guests.
According to him, the airport will also have representatives of law enforcement agencies from the European Union. In particular, their presence has already been confirmed by law enforcement officers from Germany, Italy and Spain.
The UEFA Champions League final will be held at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv on May 26.
