Elina Svitolina becomes first Ukrainian to enter WTA Top 3

22-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina holds third position in the updated WTA ranking and thereby sets an absolute record in the history of Ukrainian tennis.
None of Ukrainian tennis representatives has managed to occupy such a high position in the world rankings before, btu.org.ua reports.
However, the season is not over yet, and the world No.3 will take part in the WTA Premier Mandatory series in Beijing.
As reported, Svitolina for the first time in her career performed in the 1/8 finals at the US Open-2017 in New York, and won the Premier 5 in Toronto.
The updated Women’s Tennis Association ranking was released on September 11.
