Sweden allocates EUR 2M to Ukraine for women’s empowerment

Sweden will allocate SEK 22.5 million (over EUR 2 million) to promote the empowerment of women in Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine on the social network X.

“Today, Sweden is launching a new support to UN Women Ukraine in the amount of 22.5 million Swedish kronor to promote the empowerment of women in Ukraine,” the ministry said in a post written in Ukrainian.

The Swedish embassy also paid tribute to Ukrainian women “who courageously defend their country and the whole of Europe as military and humanitarian workers, entrepreneurs and political leaders.”

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 30, the Swedish government announced that it would provide Ukraine with the largest military aid package since the beginning of the full-scale war in the amount of SEK 13.5 billion (USD 1.23 billion).
