At the end of the meeting with pilgrims on Sunday, Pope Francis once again expressed his opinion on the developments in n the Holy Land, also mentioning “suffering Ukraine”.

That’s according to the Vatican News, Ukrinform reports.

“War, every war in the world - I also think of suffering Ukraine - is a defeat. War is always a defeat, it is the destruction of human brotherhood. Brothers, stop it! Stop it!” said the Pontiff.

Pope Francis recalled the day of fasting, prayer and penance on Friday, October 27.

“Dear brothers and sisters, my thoughts return to what is happening in Israel and Palestine. I am very concerned, and upset, I pray and I am by the side of all who suffer – hostages, wounded, victims, and their families,” Pope Francis said after his Angel of the Lord prayer on Sunday.

The Pope pointed to the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza and expressed his pain about the shelling of the Anglican Hospital and the Orthodox Parish in recent days. In this context, Francis repeated the call to deliver humanitarian aid and release hostages.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Pope Francis at the end of the meeting with pilgrims on Wednesday urged the world not to forget about the suffering of Ukraine because of the war.
