Russia playing delaying game in Ukraine – Finnish President

Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that Russia is deliberately trying to play a delaying game in Ukraine and does not want a ceasefire or peace. His remarks came after the UK-hosted Coalition of the Willing meeting in support of Ukraine.

That is reported by Ukrinform, citing Yle and the STT news agency,

The Finnish President emphasized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's goal remains the destruction of Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

According to Stubb, the negotiations within the Coalition of the Willing, in which he participated remotely, marked "a step forward." He confirmed that a coalition of like-minded countries, consisting of around 30 nations, is currently being formed.

As previously reported, the online meeting of world leaders in support of Ukraine, held on March 15, included 29 heads of state.

Following the meeting, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that military officials would meet in the UK next week to develop concrete plans for supporting a future peace agreement. He also stated that the plans would involve cooperation with the United States.
