
Trump's special envoy may meet with Putin later this week - media
This was reported by an Axios correspondent Barak Ravid on X, Ukrinform saw.
"A source familiar confirmed Witkoff's planned trip to Moscow later this week for meeting with Putin," he wrote.
The journalist published Steve Witkoff's tentative schedule of trips this week: "Tuesday: Meeting Emirati president MBZ in Abu Dhabi, Wednesday: Gaza hostage talks in Doha and meeting with PM of Qatar, Thursday: Possible meeting with Putin in Moscow; Thursday – a possible meeting with Putin in Moscow.”
However, Ravid emphasized, the schedule could still change.
Earlier, Bloomberg journalist Annmarie Hordern reported on X Witkoff’s alleged plans to travel to Moscow.
“President Trump’s envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, plans to visit Moscow for a meeting with President Putin,” she wrote, citing unnamed sources.
The White House and the State Department have not confirmed the report so far.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ukraine and U.S. delegations will meet for talks in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah on March 11.
Ukraine will be represented at the meeting with the American side in Saudi Arabia by the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, his deputy Pavlo Palisa, Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
The American side will be represented in the negotiations by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, alongside National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
