U.S. never stopped sharing defense-related intelligence with Ukraine – Witkoff
Witkoff said this in an interview with Fox News on Monday, Ukrinform reports, citing Reuters.
"We never shut off intelligence sharing for anything defensive that the Ukrainians need," Fox News quoted Witkoff as saying in his latest interview.
Witkoff also noted that restoring full intelligence exchange would be one of the key topics discussed in this week's meetings with Ukrainian officials.
He reiterated President Trump's hopes for significant progress in the negotiations and the signing of a mineral resources deal with Ukraine.
"I think that we're going over there with an expectation that we're going to make substantial progress," Witkoff said.
Asked if he thought Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would return to the U.S. to sign a minerals deal this week, Witkoff said, "I am really hopeful. All the signs are very, very positive."
Witkoff said among important items on the table will be security protocols for the Ukrainians and territorial issues.
President Zelensky earlier expressed confidence that the upcoming talks in Saudi Arabia would be productive.
The Ukrainian delegation traveling to meet U.S. officials includes Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
