Zelensky meets with Belgian PM, thanks for F-16 jets

The Ukrainian President announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I met with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever in Brussels. I thanked the government and all Belgians for their support, particularly for the transfer of F-16 fighter jets. We greatly appreciate these strong steps to protect Ukrainian lives," Zelensky stated.

He informed Bart De Wever about the preparation of a European plan to bring about a just peace and invited the Prime Minister to take part in its development.

"During our talks, we focused particularly on defense needs, primarily the supply of artillery systems and ammunition, as well as investment in Ukraine’s domestic production of long-range drones and missiles. These systems have already proven their effectiveness on the front lines, and we must work together to strengthen this advantage. We also discussed Ukraine’s integration into the EU," the President said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on March 6, Special European Council is taking place in Brussels. During the summit, EU heads of state and government are discussing ways to strengthen European defense and increase aid to Ukraine, especially in light of statements and actions from the U.S. administration regarding a reduced role in European security and military assistance to Ukraine.
