
Ukraine's foreign minister holds phone talks with Swedish, Romanian counterparts
Sybiha shared details of the discussions on social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.
During his conversation with Stenergard, Sybiha expressed gratitude for Sweden's unwavering support and briefed her on the current situation, security risks, and challenges.
"We coordinated positions ahead of the European Council," Sybiha said, adding that he emphasized the importance of U.S. engagement in ensuring reliable peace and security.
In a separate call with Hurezeanu, the two ministers discussed further steps to enhance political dialogue between Ukraine and Romania.
"We focused on the next steps to strengthen our political dialogue and coordinated future contacts. Our close cooperation is vital for stability in the region," Sybiha said.
He also thanked Romania for its steadfast support of Ukraine.
The special European Council meeting will take place in Brussels on March 6. EU heads of state and government will discuss strengthening European defense and scaling up assistance to Ukraine in response to recent statements and actions from the U.S. administration.
