Canada's Ambassador to Ukraine Larisa Galadza will return to the country as soon as it is safe to do so.

That’s according to Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Well, definitely, our goal is to make sure that we return a diplomatic presence, indeed, in Ukraine,” Joly said on Wednesday. “I can already confirm you that Larisa Galadza, who was our ambassador to Ukraine and stationed in the south of Poland, will be going back.”

The top diplomat stopped short of elaborating when exactly the embassy will restart its work in Ukraine.

As reported earlier, on February 12, the embassy was relocated to Lviv, western Ukraine, and then to neighboring Poland on February 24, the day Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
