Poroshenko summoned for questioning to State Bureau of Investigation

Fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has been summoned for questioning to the State Bureau of Investigation on September 3.

State Bureau’s spokesperson Anzhelika Ivanova confirmed this information to Ukrinform.

“Yes, this information is true,” she stated.

At the same time, she failed to disclose other details.

As Ukrinform reported, Poroshenko's preliminary questioning took place on August 12 within criminal proceedings on possible tax evasion during the sale and purchase of the TV channel Priamy.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, the former president appears in 12 criminal proceedings as a witness. Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko stressed that no notice of suspicion had been handed to Poroshenko.
