Hrynchuk, European Commission official discuss energy sector challenges ahead of winter
According to the Ministry of Energy, as reported by Ukrinform, Hrynchuk briefed Koopman on the ongoing difficulties caused by daily Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The discussion focused on the need for additional natural gas imports to ensure a stable heating season. Hrynchuk also emphasized the importance of expanding Ukraine–EU partnerships in the area of physical infrastructure protection.
She underscored Ukraine’s urgent need for enhanced air defense systems and reserves of critical energy equipment.
The minister expressed gratitude to Koopman and his team for their continued support and for prioritizing energy issues within the European Commission’s agenda.
As earlier reported, Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak recently met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund to discuss ongoing cooperation under a technical assistance program for Ukraine’s energy sector.
