Ukraine's national power grid operator Ukrenergo currently has no plans to introduce scheduled hourly power outages for households.

The company's CEO, Vitalii Zaichenko, told Ukrinform that the ongoing emergency power cuts are the result of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system and insufficient electricity imports from Europe due to high market prices there.

"At the moment, such measures are not planned," Zaichenko said when asked by Ukrinform about the possible introduction of scheduled power outages.

He also noted that starting from 16:00 on Thursday, October 16, Ukrenergo plans to implement power consumption limits for businesses and industrial facilities.
