Ukraine pushing for sanctions on 400+ ships in Russia’s shadow fleet
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Yermak said the plan proposes extending sanctions to over 400 vessels of Russia’s shadow fleet.
It also calls for reducing and regularly adjusting the price caps on oil and premium-segment oil products.
The plan foresees secondary sanctions and port embargoes against those helping the Kremlin circumvent restrictions.
Other measures include the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine and closing loopholes in export controls on technologies, especially via third countries.
“This document is essentially a clear plan for the next wave of sanctions, ready for implementation,” Yermak stressed.
According to Yermak, a number of proposals from previous papers have already been incorporated into sanction packages by Ukraine’s partners.
“We need a shift to systemic and aggressive economic pressure on Russia,” Yermak emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Trump administration fully understands which sanctions could be imposed on Russia. However, he noted that the final decision would be made directly by President Trump.
