The Ukrainian-Polish talks regarding the import and transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through the territory of Poland continue in Warsaw on Tuesday.

According to Polish Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Robert Telus, the parties are seeking a solution that would allow them to resume the transit of Ukrainian-produced grain through the territory of Poland to third countries, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to Polskie Radio.

Telus mentioned that the negotiations lasted yesterday and would continue today. These are typical technical discussions to find a solution and resume transit operations towards Europe.

On Monday, both delegations held a meeting with the involvement of Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.

Telus noted that no food products had been imported from Ukraine into Poland’s territory since April 15, 2023. In his words, Poland is holding talks with the European Commission and Ukraine to find a corresponding solution.

“We want these products to go to Europe, because it is important, but we want them to go deeper into Europe instead of staying within our country. It is necessary to find a solution that will ensure this,” Telus stressed.

In his opinion, not only Polish farmers but also those in the EU should bear the costs of providing aid to Ukraine.

Telus added that talks between Poland and the European Commission are difficult but, after Warsaw’s decisive actions, Brussels is making efforts to resolve the issue.
