Power cuts will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook.

“The scope of the power restrictions planned for today will be expanded. During the evening peak hours—from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.—scheduled hourly power outages will be implemented in all regions of Ukraine,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the restrictions are due to the consequences of previous Russian attacks on energy facilities and the resulting power shortage in the grid amid high energy consumption.

“Check the official websites of the distribution system operator (oblenergo) in your region for the time and duration of power outages at your address. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible during the evening hours,” Ukrenergo added.

As reported, electricity consumption increased by 16% from the previous day as of the morning of April 8. Among the reasons for the rise in consumption are a cold snap across all regions and cloudy weather, which reduces the efficiency of residential solar power plants.
