Iran attacks two cities in Bahrain despite ceasefire
According to Ukrinform, CBC News reported this.
According to sources, explosions were heard in Bahrain’s capital, Manama, on Wednesday morning, several hours after the U.S. and Iran announced a ceasefire and a two-week truce.
The Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain stated that civil defense teams managed to bring under control a fire that broke out at the facility targeted by the Iranian attack.
The ministry later reported that two people sustained minor injuries and “a number of houses were damaged in the Sitra area as a result of shrapnel falling from the interception of an Iranian drone.”
As reported by Ukrinform, the U.S., Israel, and Iran agreed to a two-week mutual ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, ordered all Iranian military forces to cease fire immediately. The text of the order was read on Iran’s state television.
The order was made public approximately two hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week postponement of strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure and bridges in exchange for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Following the U.S., Israel agreed to a two-week ceasefire.
