NBU sold $503M on interbank foreign exchange market last week

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) sold $503 million and purchased $50 million on the interbank foreign exchange market last week, Ukrinform reports, referring to data provided by the central bank.

Following foreign exchange interventions, between February 14 and February 18, 2022, the National Bank sold $393 million on the interbank foreign exchange market at the best exchange rate and $110 million dollars at a single rate. The central bank also bought $50 million dollars at a single rate.

Since the start of 2022, the National Bank sold $2,064.20 million and purchased $656.90 million on the interbank foreign exchange market.

As reported by Ukrinform, the National Bank sold $1,276 billion and purchased $3.692 billion on the interbank foreign exchange market in 2021. In 2020, the central bank sold $3.891 billion and purchased $4.929 billion on the interbank foreign exchange market in 2020.
