Türkiye offers Japan partnership on drone production
According to Ukrinform, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the statement in an interview with Nikkei Asia, as reported by TRT Haber.
“We believe there is strong potential for cooperation between Türkiye and Japan that will benefit both sides,” the Turkish top diplomat said.
Fidan stressed that Turkish drone technologies have proven effective in various operational conditions and could serve as a foundation for joint projects with Japan, particularly in coastal and border security.
“In aviation, especially in unmanned aerial systems and drone interception technologies, Türkiye has developed advanced and field-tested capabilities that can form a strong foundation for cooperation,” he said.
Beyond defense cooperation, the minister also highlighted progress in negotiations on a social security agreement between the two countries, as well as significant potential for collaboration in energy, mining, digital transformation, aviation and space technologies, robotics, and the development of resilient supply chains.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, two weeks ago Türkiye and Kazakhstan agreed to establish a joint venture for the production and maintenance of Turkish ANKA drones.
