Russia’s war casualty toll in Ukraine up by 1,000 over past day

Russia’s total combat losses in its full-scale war against Ukraine have reached approximately 1,316,070 personnel as of April 17, 2026, including 1,000 troops killed or wounded over the past day.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports this on Facebook.

The latest figures also indicate the following Russian equipment losses: 11,870 tanks (+4), 24,400 armored combat vehicles (+9), 40,160 artillery systems (+114), 1,739 multiple launch rocket systems (+1), 1,349 air defense systems (+2), 435 aircraft (+0), 350 helicopters (+0), 243,008 operational-tactical UAVs (+2,410), 4,549 cruise missiles (+12), 33 warships/boats (+0), 2 submarines (+0), 90,014 vehicles and fuel tankers (+253), 4,129 pieces of special equipment (+3).

The data is being updated, the General Staff noted.

Earlier reports said Russian forces carried out around 100 attacks on Ukrainian positions on April 16, including 26 in the Pokrovsk sector.
