Air defense destroys 9,707 enemy targets in January, including 79 missiles
According to Ukrinform, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook.
In January 2026, air defense destroyed 9,707 aerial targets. These included 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 9 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles, 37 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 10 Kalibr cruise missiles, 4 Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles, and 6 Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Air defense also neutralized 2,725 Shahed-type attack UAVs, 565 reconnaissance drones, and 18,185 UAVs of other types.
In January, Air Force aviation carried out 614 sorties, including about 460 for fighter air cover and more than 90 for fire strikes and aviation support of troops.
In January, aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 392 aerial targets: 11 cruise missiles and 381 UAVs. Command posts, logistics facilities, as well as concentrations of Russian personnel and equipment were hit.
As Ukrinform previously reported, air defense forces neutralized 64 of the 85 drones with which Russian invaders attacked Ukraine from the evening of January 30.
