War update: 38 combat clashes since morning, Pokrovsk direction remains most active
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in an operational update as of 16:00 on Monday, May 11.
Russian artillery continues shelling border areas. Today, Novovasylivka, Korenok, Bachivsk, Ryzhivka, Tovstodubove, Budky, Ulanove, Bezsalivka, and Kharkivka in Sumy region came under enemy fire.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the invaders shelled settlements and positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces 29 times, including three strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the Russian army launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe.
In the Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivsk, and Prydniprovske directions, the enemy has not conducted offensive operations today.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched seven assaults near Lyman, Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Ozerne. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled one attempt by the invaders to advance near Riznykivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian troops attacked eight times near Pleshchiivka, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Kucherevyi Yar. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the enemy has attempted 12 times to push Ukraine's Defense Forces from their positions near Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Novopidhorodne, and Molodetske, in the direction of Novopavlivka. Four combat engagements are still underway.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled five Russian attacks toward Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked twice near Stepnohirske.
In other sectors of the front, the situation remains without significant changes. The invaders are not attempting new advances there.
Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact and deep behind enemy lines.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian troops are attempting to establish control over several settlements in the Huliaipole direction.
