Russians strike two ports in Odesa, one dead and eight wounded
This was reported on Telegram by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba, according to Ukrinform.
"Russia has launched another attack on two ports in Odesa region. Unfortunately, one person was killed. We express our condolences to the family and loved ones. At least five people were injured and are receiving all necessary medical care," the message says.
According to Kuleba, the attack damaged port facilities, administrative buildings, and containers with oil.
In turn, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kipper, clarified on Telegram that the number of victims of the massive attack by Russian troops on the ports had risen to eight. All the wounded are receiving medical assistance.
All services are working on site, taking into account safety requirements, and the aftermath is being dealt with. The ports continue to operate.
As reported, oily stains caused by a sunflower oil spill due to enemy attacks on port infrastructure were detected in the Black Sea waters within the Odesa region. The waters of the Pivdennyi port were temporarily closed until the consequences of the vegetable oil spill were completely eliminated.
For the first two days after the attack, the port was under continuous shelling by the Russian army, so work to localize the spill could only be carried out partially.
