Frontline stable in border village of Sotnytskyi Kozachok in Kharkiv region, regional governor says
This was reported at a press conference by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The enemy declared its intention to expand the frontline and attempted to do so in Sotnytskyi Kozachok. I will say first of all: the frontline there is stable, and the enemy is being destroyed in that direction. Over several days of active hostilities, more than 50 servicemen of the Russian Federation have been killed and about 100 wounded,” Syniehubov said.
He suggested that attempts at new breakthroughs to expand the frontline may also occur in other areas.
“The enemy will likely try other possible directions and territories as well, testing the positions of our troops in order to choose its next priority direction and attempt to expand the zone of offensive operations,” the regional governor noted.
According to him, there is currently an escalation in the Izium direction, specifically near the settlement of Borova.
As reported, Russian forces suffered losses during an attempted assault near Sotnytskyi Kozachok and retreated. The Joint Forces grouping stated that the enemy attempted a breakthrough in order to build up its offensive potential.
In the summer of 2024, the Russian invading army had already attempted to expand the combat foothold by trying to entrench itself in Sotnytskyi Kozachok, a border settlement in the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region.
