War update: Defense Forces repel 38 attacks in Pokrovsk sector, 112 clashes on front line

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 112 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. Fighting is currently ongoing on five fronts, with the enemy remaining most active in Pokrovsk.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted an update on Facebook regarding the frontline situation as of 16:00 on Thursday, November 20.

Russian artillery shelled Novovasylivka, Bobylivka, Korenok, Brusky, and Studenok in the Sumy region, as well as Yasna Poliana, Khrinivka, and Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region.

The invaders launched an attack in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. They also struck the area with five guided aerial bombs and carried out 87 artillery strikes, one of which was from a multiple launch rocket system.

In the Southern Slobozhanshcyna sector, there were three combat clashes in the areas of Synelnykove and Vovchansk. One is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack toward Pishchane.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions ten times in the areas of Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Shandryholove, Myrne, Kolodiazi, and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Russians carried out nine attacks near Serebrianka, Dronivka, Siversk, Vyimka, and Pereizne, as well as toward Zvanivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy launched three attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novomarkove and Chasiv Yar, targeting the direction of Predtechyne.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attempts by the Russian army to break through the defense lines in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the invaders have made 43 attempts to dislodge the Defense Forces from their positions in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Udachne, Molodetske, Novoserhiivka, Filiia, and Dachne, toward Novopavlivka. Thirty-eight of their attacks have already been repelled.

In the Oleksandrohrad sector, defenders stopped 13 Russian assaults in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Pryvilne, Sosnivka, Stepove, Rybne, and Krasnohirsk. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops attempted seven times to advance on Ukrainian positions in the Yablukove and Rivnopillia areas. Four clashes are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack in the direction of Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the Russians made one attempt to approach the positions of the Defense Forces in the Antonivskyi Bridge area, but it was unsuccessful.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces are working to strengthen their own logistics while simultaneously attempting to disrupt the enemy's logistics routes.
