FM Sybiha heading to Moldova for meeting on launch of Special Tribunal
This was reported on the website of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, according to Ukrinform.
“The key event will be the approval by more than three dozen states of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Management Committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. This implementation agreement will provide the legal launch of the Tribunal’s work. Other decisions by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in support of Ukraine are also expected,” the ministry stated.
A number of important meetings between the minister and his counterparts from Council of Europe member states, the organization’s leadership, and heads of several international organizations are planned on the sidelines of the session.
The bilateral part of the visit will include talks between Sybiha and Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, as well as a regional trip.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister will also visit the city of Bălți in northern Moldova for the first time, where Ukrainians make up around 30% of the region’s population.
As previously reported, Switzerland informed the Council of Europe of its intention to join the Enlarged Partial Agreement enabling the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.
