Zelensky summarizes visit to Norway: Today we have new package of energy support
He reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Today we have a new package of energy support from Norway – already the third this year – amounting to about 150 million dollars for gas purchases this winter. Energy support is extremely important," he said.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Norway and its Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store for the assistance.
According to Zelensky, during his meeting with Store, among other things, they discussed the consequences of the latest Russian shelling.
"I am grateful for Norway's solidarity and condolences. We discussed Ukraine's needs for air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as other steps that can strengthen Ukraine during the winter. We also discussed our defense cooperation separately – the production of drones and missiles, and the expansion of the PURL initiative. We coordinated our positions and upcoming meetings to be held in Europe this week," Zelensky stated.
As Ukrinform reported, during the latest Ramstein meeting, Norway announced $600 million in aid for UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and explosives.
Earlier, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store expressed his country's readiness to finance the purchase of Patriot systems for Ukraine in the U.S.
Norway is also an active participant in the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program, through which Ukraine purchases weapons in the United States.
On October 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced agreements with Norway and the Netherlands to help restore Ukraine's energy system after Russian attacks.
