Latest Russian air raid involves 4 Iskanders, 80 drones

Ukraine’s air defense shot down 52 Russian attack drones overnight Monday amid a combined air raid that involved 4 Iskander missiles and 80 UAVs.

That’s according to Ukraine’s Air Force, Ukrinform reports.

Starting 21:30 on Sunday, June 1, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 84 air attack means:

  • 80 Shahed-type attack UAVs and decoy drones of various types from Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Voronezh region; and
  • an Iskander-K cruise missile from Bryansk region.

Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, and Kherson regions were the main targets of the attack.

The air raid was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, drones, and mobile fire groups.

According to tentative reports, as of 08:30 on Monday, June 2, air defense neutralized 52 targets in the east, south, and north of Ukraine: 15 drones were shot down and 37 were lost from radar/suppressed by electronic warfare means.

Hits were recorded in 12 locations.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, six people, including a child, were injured in Kharkiv as a result of a Russian air strike Monday morning.
