Putin gains time for new offensive intending ‘to fight until victory’ - CCD

Russia has simply bought time to carry out offensive operations by refusing the U.S. demand for an immediate ceasefire. Russian military bloggers are claiming they’ve been allowed to “fight until victory.”

As reported by Ukrinform, this was stated on Telegram by Andrii Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

“Russia has simply gained time to carry out offensive actions by refusing the U.S. proposal for an immediate ceasefire. Russian war correspondents are openly writing that they’ve been given permission to ‘fight until victory.’ They aren’t even hiding their original intention to keep fighting. That was Putin’s initial plan, which Ukraine was aware of, and had already agreed to stop the war back in March, while Putin refused,” emphasized Kovalenko.

According to him, without pressure, Putin will simply continue killing. Words mean nothing to him — he manipulates to buy time, and he’s done this consistently since 2014.

As Ukrinform previously reported, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin held a two-hour phone call the day before. Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine must immediately begin ceasefire talks and work toward ending the war.
