After geolocating photos and videos shared by eyewitnesses, Astra concluded that the Ilsky refinery had been hit and was burning.
The fire was later confirmed by the regional operational headquarters.
According to Astra's estimates, this marks at least the 16th attack on the refinery since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Ilsky refinery is one of the leading oil-processing facilities in Russia's Southern Federal District, with a total crude oil processing capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes per year.
