Air raid alert across Ukraine as Russian Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 bombers take off

The Ukrainian Air Force recorded the takeoff of several Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers in Russia in the early hours of Tuesday.

That’s according to the UAF Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

"The takeoff of several Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the south-eastern direction (Caspian Sea area) was recorded," one posting read, followed by a separate one reporting a takeoff of Tu-222M3s from the Shaikovka airfield in Kaluga region.

The Air Force press service said it would provide further updates on the missile launches and their routes as they come.

As reported, on the evening of January 22, the Air Force warned citizens about incoming Russian drones in the southern areas.
