Over the past day, the Defense Forces of Ukraine decimated 174 occupiers in Bakhmut direction and 57 more in Kupyansk direction. Ukrainian defenders advance with heavy fighting.

"The defensive operation continues in Kupyansk direction. Our MLRS are constantly working and inflicting fire damage on massive accumulations of enemy equipment and personnel. In particular, over the past day, the defenders of Ukraine decimated 57 occupiers. They also destroyed three trucks, a dugout, and many other enemy equipment units. Our artillery, both cannon and rocket, our intelligence are constantly working, identifying key points where enemy equipment and command posts amass, and inflicting fire damage on them," Illia Yevlash, the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of Forces, said during the United News national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

According to the spokesman, in Bakhmut direction, the enemy resorts to assaults, trying to regain positions taken by Ukrainian troops. Despite enemy resistance, the defense forces are advancing meter by meter with heavy fighting in the southern direction.

Yevlash also noted that the enemy was actively throwing reserves, which have not undergone appropriate training, into battles. So, representatives of the so-called private military companies, which are not supported by artillery or heavy equipment, come first and they are followed by military personnel whom the Russian army protects.

"Over the past day, our service members managed to destroy a drone control point. Seven combat engagements occurred also and they were unsuccessful for the enemy, which tried to break through our defense lines. Also, the defense forces eliminated 174 invaders, a tank, two IFVs, and a whole range of different artillery systems, both cannon and rocket, in Bakhmut direction. Moreover, BM-21 Grad MLRS, D-30 howitzer, eight vehicles used by the occupiers to deliver ammunition and personnel, four Orlan UAVs were destroyed. Now the enemy will have less capacities to see the positions of our troops and spot their artillery fire," Yevlash emphasized.

He also added that the enemy continued digging anti-tank ditches, trying to strengthen them in various ways. In particular, engineering and mine-explosive barriers, the so-called "dragon's teeth", are being installed. At the same time, with proper planning, these barriers are not insurmountable, Yevlash noted.

According to him, the enemy tactics in general remain unchanged.
