Invaders moving reserves to Bakhmut to hold their positions – military spox
Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesperson for the Eastern Grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said this on national television, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, enemy forces above all want to hold their positions near Bakhmut: "They constantly move reserves there and sometimes try to counterattack. We repel these attempts. Recently, the enemy has had no success in counterattacks."
"In our operational zone, over the last 24 hours, the enemy launched more than 1,150 artillery strikes using various types of mortars, gun artillery, and multiple rocket launchers. There were 15 clashes, during which 121 occupiers were killed and 256 were injured. Four tanks, two self-propelled artillery pieces, two UAVs, two kamikaze drones and five enemy armored vehicles were destroyed," Cherevatyi said.
From February 24, 2022 to July 17, 2023, Ukraine's defense forces eliminated about 238,300 Russian invaders, including 620 in the past 24 hours.
