General Assembly of European Network of Councils of Justice grants HCJ observer status

The General Assembly of the European Network of Councils of Justice granted the High Council of Justice observer status.

This is reported by the HCJ press service, according to Ukrinform.

"Today, on June 8, 2023, the General Assembly of the European Network of Councils of Justice decided to grant the High Council of Justice observer status," the statement said.

Hryhorii Usyk, HCJ Chairman, who is attending the Assembly's meetings in Ljubljana, Slovenia, noted that the decision was made in response to the High Council of Justice's request and is extremely important on the path of Ukraine's integration into the EU.

He said that cooperation with the European Network of Councils of Justice is a unique opportunity to establish direct contacts with representatives of more than twenty councils of justice from EU countries and EU candidate countries to exchange experience and best practices in the functioning of the judiciary.

The HCJ considers the European Network of Judicial Councils to be a unique platform where it will be able to study European experience and share its own expertise on the entire range of issues related to the judiciary.

The European Network of Councils of Justice (ENCJ) was established in 2004. It is a network that brings together all the judicial councils of the European Union member states and represents them in the EU. It consists of public institutions of the European Union member states that are independent and responsible for supporting the judiciary in the independent administration of justice.
