Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has outlined the priority areas of work for the A1 Defense AI Center.

According to Ukrinform, he shared the details on Facebook.

Fedorov recalled that, to stay ahead of the enemy on the battlefield, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry – with support from the United Kingdom government – launched the A1 Defense AI Center. The center will integrate artificial intelligence into warfare to ensure Ukraine's technological advantage across three domains: air, land, and the economy.

"In modern warfare, victory goes to the side that reacts faster. Today, AI is becoming a driver of decisions that provide an advantage on the battlefield. The center's focus is on practical solutions for the front," the minister said.

Among the top priorities is turning battlefield data into actionable insights. "We are developing systems that analyze battlefield data, predict enemy actions, and help shape effective response scenarios," Fedorov said.

Another key area is the development of AI for drones and robotic platforms capable of operating without GPS and in electronic warfare environments. "We are integrating them into a single network to carry out combat missions with minimal human involvement and to save soldiers' lives," he added.

The center will also focus on accelerating innovation in the defense industry, with AI expected to drive the development of new technological solutions across all domains of warfare. "We are launching simulation environments that allow us to design and test new solutions and improve their effectiveness in combat conditions," Fedorov said.

He also highlighted reducing bureaucracy in the military in areas such as procurement, financial audits, and personnel management.

According to the minister, A1 is intended to become a unified hub bringing together the military, companies, scientists, and international partners to coordinate development and rapidly turn ideas into effective tools for the front.

As reported earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry launched the A1 Defense AI Center in March to accelerate the transformation of battlefield experience and data into technological solutions and speed up the deployment of innovations in the armed forces.
