Fourteen civilians have been confirmed as killed and 97 injured in Russia’s massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine today.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Denys Monastyrskyi during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Actually, it is the second massive missile attack after February 24 and, probably, the biggest shelling in history in terms of critical energy infrastructure. Now it can be called energy terrorism, which became a continuation of nuclear terrorism with a nuclear power plant, I mean Zaporizhzhia NPP, which had been continuously shelled by Russian troops,” Monastyrskyi said.

In his words, at the moment, a total of 74 strikes have been reported in 12 regions. Fourteen civilians were confirmed as killed and 97 injured.

Russian projectiles caused a serious damage to energy infrastructure facilities, but the effects are expected to be overcome within the next 24 hours.

According to Monastyrskyi, Russia attacked not only Ukraine’s energy sector but also Europe’s integrated energy system, as the Ukrainian side had to suspend electricity exports to the EU.

Monastyrskyi added that rescuers had extinguished 30 fires across different regions of Ukraine. Over 1,300 settlements are remaining left without electricity.
