Ukrainian Canadian Community expresses support for President Zelensky

The Ukrainian Canadian Community has strongly condemned the outrageous verbal attack on President Volodymyr Zelensky by U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.

As reported by a Ukrinform correspondent, this statement was made by Alexandra Chyczij, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC).

“The shameful attack by Trump and Vance on President Zelenskyy was one of the most disgraceful things we have ever witnessed from a US Administration. To berate the leader of a country fighting for its life against Russia’s genocidal war is an act of perfidy and dishonesty that is a stain on the United States,” Chyczij said.

She emphasized that claim that Ukraine is not ready for peace is "simply a lie."

“It is Russia that does not want peace. It is Russia that started the war,” she stated.

Chyczij called on the Americans to send a clear message to their Administration that the American people stand on the side of justice and truth, which Trump and Vance have abandoned.

As reported, on February 28, President Zelensky visited the United States.

During a joint press conference, a heated argument erupted between Trump and Zelensky, leading the Ukrainian President to leave the White House early.
