Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko discussed with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink cooperation in supporting Ukrainian media and countering Russian disinformation.

That’s according to Tkachenko’s statement released via social media, Ukrinform reports.

"Had a fruitful meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Brink and her team. America is one of our biggest allies, providing us with assistance in many areas – from weapons to grants for our creative industries and artists," the post reads.

According to Tkachenko, during the meeting, the parties "discussed more thorough and specific cooperation in three directions, in particular, it is about "supporting Ukrainian media and countering Russian disinformation."

"These two tracks always stand together because our media is our information front, to which I propose that all the countries of the civilized world join," the minister noted.

That is why Tkachenko "proposes to organize an "informational Ramstein," which will be a platform for discussing the new wartime informational challenges and mark the beginning of a unified informational front of the allied nations."

During the meeting, the parties also spoke of "preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine – help is needed both in digitalization of cultural heritage, creation of separate registers for each area, as well as the supply of materials for the evacuation of cultural objects", the minister noted.

In addition, the two discussed support for Ukrainian artists and book publishing.

"It was proposed to create long-term collaborations between well-known American and Ukrainian institutions or artists," the minister said.

Tkachenko emphasized that "artists need financial support precisely in Ukraine."

"We face many challenges in how to restore these areas after the war, and we face even more challenges today. Therefore, I continue to explain to our partners why we need concrete support already now and within Ukraine. I am grateful to the partners for their understanding and willingness to help," the minister said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on August 1, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov discussed support for Ukraine with United States Ambassador Bridget Brink and Defense Attaché Brigadier General Garrick Harmon.
