The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine welcomed the start of the evacuation of civilians from the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol and called for the continued provision of humanitarian corridors.

“MFA welcomes the start of the evacuation of civilians from Azovstal steelworks to the Ukrainian-controlled territory. This became possible thanks to the efforts of Ukrainian leadership Zelensky, UN Secretary General António Guterres, ICRC President Peter Maurer,” the Ministry posted on Twitter.

As noted, the evacuation gives a chance to civilians, in particular mothers and children, to restore normal lives and receive proper treatment.
