Czech initiative “Memory of Nations” delivers over 350 generators, medical equipment to Ukraine

“Our trucks are currently traveling across Ukraine, delivering a total of 357 generators,” Oknecht said.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine and local authorities, the generators are being sent primarily to the Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
A few days ago, representatives of the initiative met with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who thanked them for their support and advised directing assistance to the Sumy region. Following this, the organization contacted Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Vasyl Zvarych.
“In Brno, a truck carrying generators worth 8 million hryvnias is already being prepared. It will head directly to the Sumy region. We have identified the facilities – resilience hubs, hospitals, and schools. The shipment will be sent within a week,” Oknecht noted.
The organization has been helping Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. Initially, activists collected protective gear for Ukrainian military personnel, including body armor, helmets, and medical equipment. In particular, 13,577 bulletproof vests were produced in-house with the involvement of 200 volunteers and 20 Ukrainian refugees at a warehouse in Prague.
Later, Memory of Nations began supplying ambulances, evacuation vehicles for the military, and other vehicles used to rescue the wounded. Most recently, the organization also delivered an all-terrain vehicle.
According to Oknecht, the total value of the assistance provided amounts to 786 million Czech korunas (over 1.5 billion hryvnias), making the initiative one of the largest support funds for Ukraine in Central Europe.
For its activities, the organization has received commendations from representatives of Ukraine’s military leadership.
“But the most important thing for us is evidence that our assistance has helped save hundreds of lives,” Oknecht emphasized.
Currently, activists have delivered five truckloads of medical supplies to Ukraine, including bandages, tourniquets, and equipment for paramedics.
As reported, Czech initiatives continue to actively support Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, a significant portion of the aid has been directed toward purchasing generators for cities suffering from Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
