Ukraine increases number of PCR tests by more than 30,000 over past week

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has stated that Ukraine has increased the number of PCR tests by 33,000 tests over the past week.
“Last week we performed 157,563 PCR tests. The week before last, we had 124,929 tests. We have increased the number of tests by almost 33,000. Over the past week, [COVID-19] was confirmed in 16,853 patients, 2,838 were taken to hospitals,” Stepanov said at a briefing on September 7, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
According to the Health Ministry, 19,006 tests were performed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours, including 15,224 PCR and 3,782 ELISA tests.
As reported, Ukraine confirmed 138,068 COVID-19 cases on September 7, including 2,174 infections confirmed over the previous day.
