Budget of Affordable Medicines program to be doubled in 2020 – health minister

The prescription medicines cost reimbursement program Affordable Medicines will be expanded next year.
Health Minister Zoriana Skaletska stated this at a press conference in Zhytomyr, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“The Affordable Medicines program will be expanded in 2020, it will be doubled in financial terms, and insulin will be added to the list from April 1,” Skaletska said.
The minister added that tools within the affordable medicines reimbursement and reduction in prices would help minimize patient costs in the next three to five years.
"The more we are able to approve clinical guidelines, the less unjustified the cost of medicines will be for patients," Skaletska said.
