Book of poems by Serhiy Zhadan featured in New York Times Book Review

The New York Times Book Review listed the book of selected poems by Serhiy Zhadan “What We Live for, What We Die for” as one of the featured books.

The book of poems translated from Ukranian into English by Virlana Tkacz and Wanda Phipps will be soon published by the Yale University Press, reads the statement on the official Facebook account of Serhiy Zhadan.

The New York Times Book Review characterized the selected poems as those “exploring the cultural landscape of post-Soviet devastation.”

The presentation of the book will be held in New York, Boston and Philadelphia on April 9 -14.

Serhiy Zhadan is a Ukrainian poet, novelist, essayist, and translator, one of the leading figures on the modern literary process. The books by Serhiy Zhadan have been already translated into 30 languages. He is one of the most popular Ukrainian writers abroad. The books by Zhadan available in English translation include Mesopotamia, Voroshilovgrad, Depeche Mode, and selected poems.
