President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the implementation of initiatives announced during his recent trip to Donbas with Brigadier General Denys Prokopenko.

The head of state reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“I spoke with Redis, Brigadier General Denys Prokopenko, about the implementation of the initiatives announced last Friday during my trip to the combat zones in Donetsk region,” Zelensky said.

He stressed that the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” is one of the most effective combat structures of our Defense Forces. “We will continue to support the development of the corps and other units of the National Guard, resolving issues related to staffing and provisioning,” the President said following the meeting.

As reported by Ukrinform, on July 8, 2023, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky returned from Turkey with the defenders of Azovstal, who had been there since September 2022. According to him, Ukrainian soldiers Denys Prokopenko, Sviatoslav Palamar, Serhii Volynskyi, Oleh Khomenko, and Denys Shleha will finally be reunited with their families.
