CEC resumes operation of State Voter Register

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction David Arakhamia.

According to him, today, for the first time since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, a CEC resolution resumed the operation of the State Voter Register.

This effectively opens the way to resuming interaction between the CEC and citizens and public authorities regarding work with the register and, as a result, its updating.

“Updating the voter register is one of the basic conditions for holding any elections. The war has had a major impact on demographic indicators, and this must be reflected in the register. There is plenty of work to be done in this area,” the head of the Servant of the People faction noted.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that, with organizational support from partners, he is ready to hold elections in Ukraine under martial law. At the same time, the head of state stressed that elections will not be held in Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

A working group is being formed in the Verkhovna Rada to promptly consider the issue of possibly holding presidential elections in Ukraine under martial law.
