On Thursday, December 18, the UK government imposed new sanctions against the Russian Federation in the energy sector.

The updated sanctions list was published on the UK government’s website, according to Ukrinform.

Overall, the list has been expanded by 24 entries, including five individuals and 19 legal entities.

In particular, the UK government introduced restrictive measures against several Russian oil companies, including Tatneft, Russneft, Russneftegaz, NNK-Oil, and Gelion Business Trade (Uzbekistan), among others.

Bloomberg adds that the new sanctioned individuals also include Pakistani oil tycoon Murtaza Lakhani for his role in Russia’s energy sector.
