Ukrainian peace delegation led by Umerov en route to U.S.
According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Facebook.
“Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian delegation Rustem Umerov, together with the team, is already on the way to the United States. Rustem delivered a report today, and the task is clear: to swiftly and substantively work out the steps needed to end the war,” Zelensky stated.
He noted that Ukraine continues to work as constructively as possible with the United States, “and we expect that the results of the meetings in Geneva will now be hammered out in the United States.”
The President added that he expects a report from the delegation following the work that will take place this Sunday.
“Ukraine is working for a dignified peace,” the President emphasized.
As reported, Zelensky changed the composition of the delegation for peace negotiations with the U.S. and other international partners, as well as with representatives of Russia. The delegation is now headed by Rustem Umerov.
