Stefanchuk reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Stefanchuk emphasized that no concessions regarding Ukraine’s territory or sovereignty are possible.
The discussion also covered strengthening sanctions against Russia, with particular attention on the return of Ukrainian children illegally taken by Russia from occupied territories.
The meeting included talks on the future work of the international Crimean Platform. Stefanchuk invited his Canadian colleague to participate in its Fourth Parliamentary Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Stockholm, Sweden. They also discussed prospects for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to Canada for its consistent political, economic, and military support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
“We especially appreciate parliamentary decisions that condemn the crimes of the Kremlin regime and reaffirm support for our NATO path,” he noted.
The Verkhovna Rada Chairman expressed hope that a joint visit of G7 parliamentary speakers to Kyiv will take place soon, as a strong gesture of solidarity with Ukraine.
As reported, Stefanchuk arrived in Ottawa to participate in the G7 Parliamentary Summit.
