Warsaw demands tougher 18th sanctions package on Russia amid Kyiv bombings
This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paweł Wroński.
“Poland has always stood with Ukraine and constantly exerts pressure on Russia. Now the focus is on introducing the 18th sanctions package and setting a price cap on Russian oil because this is primarily what fuels the Russian war machine. We deeply sympathize with the residents of Ukraine who are currently under Russia’s carpet bombing,” Wroński emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, overnight on June 17, 27 locations in Kyiv were hit by a combined Russian attack. Preliminary data indicate 15 people were killed, 114 injured, of whom 68 were hospitalized.
In Odesa, one person died, and 10 were injured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the new EU sanctions package against Russia must be supplemented with strong measures. According to him, it is necessary to severely limit the Russian tanker fleet, their technological capabilities for extraction and processing, and do everything possible to ensure the price of Russian oil remains lower than what they can sustain.
