President Volodymyr Zelensky confirms he has an invitation to the G7 summit

Regarding participation in the NATO summit, he said that “it is very important for Ukraine to understand in what format it can be represented.”

The head of state said this during a conversation with journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

G7: I was invited by Prime Minister [of Canada] Carney. He is the chairman. And I will be there. As for the EU, I think I will also be there in one format or another, we have no such challenges there,” Zelensky said.

Regarding the NATO summit, according to the President, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that “they would very much like Ukraine to be” [present at the summit].

“And it is very important for Ukraine to understand in what format it can be represented. There are a lot of different signals regarding NATO,” Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform reported, the G7 summit will be held in Kananaskis, Canada, on June 15-17.

The summit of the North Atlantic Alliance will be held in The Hague on June 24-25. At a joint press conference in Brussels on May 22, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof urged journalists to “wait a little bit” to answer the question of whether Volodymyr Zelensky would be invited to the Alliance summit.
